Hypertension is one of the most prevalent health condition in the U.S.  People fail to understand the importance and simplicity of how much healthy lifestyle choices with wholesome diet will help them normalize their blood pressure levels. The other important factor is reducing their medications to the point of elimination.

As many natural remedies as there are to help with lowering blood pressure, it is plain and simple that exercising will and can maintain an energetic lifestyle with a lean waistline.  Below are ten natural ways to help lower blood pressure without medications and pharmaceutical agents:

Plenty of Exercise
As already stated above, exercise is key to maintaining a health blood pressure.  Keep a regular exercise regime, at least 30 minutes a day.  If systolic pressure is the problem, make sure to incorporate aerobics.  That is the most effective way of fighting against the symptoms of hypertension.
The more exercise that higher chance for reduction of medication.  No matter what exercise you pick, consistency is key.

More Potassium
While we know that excess salt can be a big problem, but potassium is a different condition.  Potassium is a hidden treasure.  It has been seen those that struggle with hypotension tend to have a  low potassium.  Hypertension patients showed in study that when they consume potassium their blood pressure showed improvement.

All you need is a banana (422 mg of potassium), orange juice (496 mg of potassium), low-fat yogurt (579 mg of potassium), and baked potato with skin (738 mg of potassium).

Salt Consumption Reduction
There is no question that a salt consumption reduction can benefit everyone, ranging from aggravated hypertension patients to normal blood pressure.  Those with hypertension are recommended to have less than 1500 mg of salt each day.  Along with that, it is much easier to monitor salt consumption when we have home cooking vs when we dine out/ processed foods.  When possible, always read the labels.

Quit Smoking
Consumption of tobacco and nicotine is not a direct cause of hypertension.  But it does lead to short-term blood pressure spikes.  The real problems comes in when one smokes and lack exercise.  Both of these conditions will aggravate symptoms of hypertension.
Quit smoking can and will only help the condition.

Weight Loss
There is a strong correlation to obesity and excessive weight gain with heightened levels of blood pressure.  Endless studies have validated the claim that shedding pounds can bring out remarkable improvements in blood pressure levels.  This is due to the stress your body puts on your heart when being overweight. If one is overweight, it is strongly recommended to lose weight.

Alcohol Consumption Reduction
Risks run high when alcohol is consumed regularly.  When consuming alcohol, be mindful and try to accompany it with a meal to dull the effects of alcohol on your blood pressure.
Nutritionists and health experts strongly and widely suggest no more than two drinks a day for men and one drink for woman a day.

Managing Stress
Aside from exercising and one’s weight in check, it is most effective if the stress level can be reduced.  Countless relaxation methods allow individuals to enter a state of complete relaxation and minimize the stressors nagging at their thought process.

Yoga
Yoga is a natural method to cleansing the body and relaxing all kinds of stressors and anxieties plaguing the mind.  Breathing exercises involved in yoga works to achieve marked reduction in blood pressure levels amongst patients suffering with hypertension.
It is also believed that yoga is capable of causing positive effects to impact autonomic nervous system (that controls digestion), heart rate, and countless other unconscious bodily functions. Yoga provides a huge range of benefits, including aerobic exercise.

Limit Coffee Consumption
The single popular caffeine source and largely consumed is coffee.  While it has many health benefits, but it also causes short term blood pressure spikes (even those that don’t have hypertension).  For hypertension patients, it is suggested to have no more than two cups of coffee a day.

Meditation
Next to yoga, meditation is most beneficial for stress management for lowering stress level in your body.

Time management to fit in aerobic exercise, yoga, and meditation along with eating healthy is very important to keeping a balanced life and blood pressure to a healthy number.  Our body is fueled by what we put into our mouths, and how we manage our daily activities and the reaction to various events as it arises.
