Plenty of Exercise
As already stated above, exercise is key to maintaining a health blood pressure.  Keep a regular exercise regime, at least 30 minutes a day.  If systolic pressure is the problem, make sure to incorporate aerobics.  That is the most effective way of fighting against the symptoms of hypertension.
The more exercise that higher chance for reduction of medication.  No matter what exercise you pick, consistency is key.

More Potassium
While we know that excess salt can be a big problem, but potassium is a different condition.  Potassium is a hidden treasure.  It has been seen those that struggle with hypotension tend to have a  low potassium.  Hypertension patients showed in study that when they consume potassium their blood pressure showed improvement.

All you need is a banana (422 mg of potassium), orange juice (496 mg of potassium), low-fat yogurt (579 mg of potassium), and baked potato with skin (738 mg of potassium).

Salt Consumption Reduction
There is no question that a salt consumption reduction can benefit everyone, ranging from aggravated hypertension patients to normal blood pressure.  Those with hypertension are recommended to have less than 1500 mg of salt each day.  Along with that, it is much easier to monitor salt consumption when we have home cooking vs when we dine out/ processed foods.  When possible, always read the labels.

Quit Smoking
Consumption of tobacco and nicotine is not a direct cause of hypertension.  But it does lead to short-term blood pressure spikes.  The real problems comes in when one smokes and lack exercise.  Both of these conditions will aggravate symptoms of hypertension.
Quit smoking can and will only help the condition.

If one is overweight, it is strongly recommended to lose weight.

Alcohol Consumption Reduction
Risks run high when alcohol is consumed regularly.  When consuming alcohol, be mindful and try to accompany it with a meal to dull the effects of alcohol on your blood pressure.
Nutritionists and health experts strongly and widely suggest no more than two drinks a day for men and one drink for woman a day.
